In November of 2006 we put down a deposit on a loft that is currently under development at Park East Lofts. It’s a new construction building near the corner of Euclid Ave. and Laclede Ave. in the heart of the Central West End. The building is being built adjacent to the Park East Tower, another recent development in the area that you can see from miles around. We’re extremely excited to have the opportunity to live in such an active and vibrant neighborhood, and to be a block from Forest Park. Slab homes made from government plastic some 30 miles from downtown aren’t for us - bring on the West End.

The building itself features a public garage owned by the city, some retail space, a fitness center and an amenities deck (pool, spa, etc.). We’re going to be on the 4th floor which looks out onto the amenities deck. Construction is supposed to be completed near the date of our wedding, but it probably won’t be. To keep our spirits up, we plan on continuing to travel throughout the summer if we find ourselves temporarily homeless. So don’t worry for us, we’ll be on the beach or in the mountains somewhere.
